Football legends from Nigeria and across Africa are set to reunite in Lagos for a special match marking the 30th anniversary of Nigeria’s historic 1996 Olympic football triumph.

The event will bring together former stars who played a major role in the memorable victory at the Atlanta Olympics, where Nigeria defeated Argentina 3–2 in the final to win the country’s first Olympic gold medal in football.
The reunion is expected to give fans an opportunity to see some of the heroes of the famous squad back together while celebrating one of the greatest moments in African football history.
The 1996 Nigerian team included stars such as Nwankwo Kanu, Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha, Daniel Amokachi, Sunday Oliseh, Emmanuel Amunike and Victor Ikpeba. Nigeria’s Olympic triumph remains a landmark achievement in the country’s football history.
The anniversary match will also serve as a celebration of the lasting impact of the players who helped put Nigerian and African football on the world stage.
