Taylor Swift has received a nomination at the 2026 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards for her song “I Knew It, I Knew You”, marking another major moment in her return to country music.
The song, written by Swift and Jack Antonoff for Toy Story 5, has performed strongly on country radio. It topped the Hot Country Songs chart and reached number eight on the Country Airplay chart.
The CMA nomination adds to a successful year for Swift, who has been reconnecting with her country roots. She has also spoken about wanting to honour the Nashville music community that helped shape her career.
“I Knew It, I Knew You” has also made history on country radio, becoming the first song by a woman to have every Mediabase-monitored country station agree to play it during its first week.
Swift’s return to country music comes nearly two decades after the release of her debut single “Tim McGraw”, which helped launch her career.
The CMA recognition further highlights the song’s success and Swift’s continued influence across both pop and country music.
